Alojz arrived to Australia in 1964.
Daniel and Štefan were born in Australia.
Alojz started working with bees in 1995, Štefan and Daniel in 2010.
Alojz is self taught, with some help from local beekeeper.
Štefan and Daniel were taught by Alojz and the personal research.
We are members of the Victorian Apiarist Association and are registered beekeepers.
WE rarely participate at the exhibitions.
We have received Gold Medal in Semič, Slovenia, on October 25, 2015.
The Gold Medal was for the eucalyptus honey.
We own 13 beehives.
We have Apis Melliferabees, the Carniolian Grey bees.
Our bees feed at our property in MIldura, Victoria.
Our bees collect floral honey mainly.
In the winter the bees are housed at our property.
The honey harvest depends on bees – we collect average amount of honey.
We do not take bees to other pastures, but keep them at our property.
We love the bees – the ones they do not sting.
Alojz has always been interested in bees even as a boy growing up in Slovenia.
Štefan and Daniel became involved after a swarm arrived on the property and we set up our first hive.
Our plans: every year is different.
So we do our best to learn from the years past to try and be prepared for the years coming.
The Carniolan honey bee is a subspecies of the western honey bee. The Carniolan honey bee is native to Slovenia, southern Austria, and parts of Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia, Hungary, Romania, and Bulgaria (Wikipedia).
