Veronika Smrdel presented Slovenia in the Church of St Pius, Heidelberg West with assistance of Angelca Veedetz and concluding with the following:
” . . . In my presentation, I introduced myself as a second generation Australian born Slovenian and talked about the hardships endured by our parents, which made them leave their homeland to come to Australia to create a new life for themselves. I talked about how the Slovenian Catholic Mission was established and our Slovenian community today. I also discussed the symbols on the front of the World Day of Prayer booklet and mentioned some significant points about the country Slovenia and the attributes of the Slovenian people. This was all tied together to connect with the Gospel passage of Luke 14:15-24.”
