Over the years of existence of the Club Planica, there was an elected representative of the Committee with the duty to be responsible for the social sector. At any time of a member’s illness, a lady visit the ill, either in hospital or at home. Get Well cards were given to the ill members, wishing well and the best for a speedy recovery. The ladies received flowers and the men a bottle of ‘medicine’. If a person expressed the wish to not be visited, their wish was respected.
For deceased members a wake was organized, free of charge, in the dining room, where warm food, cakes and other goodies which ladies prepared at home was on offer. Food was always plentiful for the people attending the funeral.
