AUSTRALIAN SLOVENIAN ASSOCIATION GEELONG

The Austtralian Slovenian Cultural and Sports Association Ivan Cankar was established in November 1955.

The beginning was very hard and many of the first meetings were held in garages and in some private homes. At times, for larger gatherings, they hired some available halls. At the Geelong club, the first Slovenian choir in Australia became active.

In 1975 a club hall was bult by voluntary members. In 1984 the bocce bowling alleys were added.
